Association of Regional and Island Archaeologists
ARIA represents archaeologists employed by, or for, local planning authorities in Scotland who provide a range of services based on a Sites and Monuments Record - a locally held and maintained database of archaeological information. Professional advice and information is provided to the local authorities, the public, the utility companies, the Scottish Executive Environment and Rural Affairs Department, and to others, on the protection and promotion of sites, monuments, and historic landscapes.
